Anatomy of a drift disposition
Drift Watch · Week 5 of 12 · September 1, 2026 · by Concura's Lead CMMC assessors

What should happen when a CUI-relevant setting changes? A mature process has five steps:
Detect the change. Map it to the control and assessment objective it touches. Assess the posture impact. Decide through change control — revert, accept, or update the baseline. Keep the record.
Detection without mapping is noise. Mapping without disposition is a finding waiting to be written. And the record is the difference between "we watch" and "we can prove we watch."
